TBD Monthly Round-Up

Things we are loving right now…

We’ve been spending more intentional time refreshing our vendors and offerings in the studio. The focus has been on curating fabrics and finishes so that we’re left only with pieces we truly love.

That’s our ethos in design—and in life—that you should surround yourself only with items that bring you joy.

A little sneak peek: some fabulous Elizabeth Eakins rugs just arrived, and I’m smitten. The soft, neutral tones paired with subtle textures and patterns feel like the perfect palette as we ease into Fall.

Behind the Scenes: Design in Progress

We’re wrapping up a new build overlooking Lake Mendocino, and it’s been such a joy to watch this modern home take shape. One of the final touches was installing a custom walnut live-edge mirror in the powder bath—a detail that feels both striking and organic.

The space is designed to be simple yet special. The walls are finished in Highland, a dark green Roman clay that reminds me of moss deep in the forest. The vanity, crafted from a slab of Cielo Extra Leather quartzite with an integrated sink, adds quiet elegance, while the charcoal gray stone mosaic floors ground the room with texture and depth.

Design News

Well, here comes 2026. Hard to believe the year is already winding down. The next few months will be full of installations as several projects reach the finish line, and it has me reflecting on what we’re seeing in design right now.

While we tend to steer clear of fleeting trends, we do like to pay attention to the larger design currents. What continues to resonate is a pull toward warm, clean, and deeply comfortable spaces. With the world feeling as if it’s spinning a little off its axis, interiors have become sanctuaries—places to cocoon, recharge, and find comfort.

We’re seeing warm neutrals in both soft, light tones and richer, more saturated hues. Layers of detail add depth and interest, but never tip into chaos. At the heart of it all: creating spaces that feel like solace in the midst of all the noise.

Here’s to embracing the shift in seasons and all the beauty it brings.
