Stunning Sea Ranch Renovation
Our clients reached out to us in the Fall of 2021, essentially wanting to modernize a 1990’s Sea Ranch house.
We started with a walk-through of the space, which was a fairly traditional Sea Ranch floor plan with bedrooms on the entry-level and the living and masters on the second floor. It’s a good plan, as it allows better site lines, and in this home, there were spectacular ocean views.
Harrison House Backyard Renovation
The late Spring rains pushed back the start of construction on our back yard, but we were finally able to break ground just after Easter. Just a little bit of history, when we first landscaped the backyard, we added a wide set of steps from the deck down to a large grass area, which made sense with two small kids. But, with the last number of years of drought conditions, it finally pushed us to remove the grass and rethink the overall design.
High Point Market Trends
We try and make the trip to Market at least every other year because it is just such a comprehensive assortment of vendors that we love. There are about 2,000 exhibitors, 180 buildings, and over 10,000 square feet of showroom space. Read more on what we saw and loved!
Wallpaper Inspiration & Styling
We can see when someone was once traumatized by bad wallpaper, but fortunately for us, many of our clients are open to the idea and understand that it can add color and texture to a space. We are here to bring it back... in its best way.
Just the right hue…this time in green
Looking back over the last few years, green has made its way into many of our designs. The right shade of green can make a room feel vibrant and exotic, but it can also have a relaxing characteristic. It is all about the hue.
Ho, Ho, Holiday Decorating
I love the Holidays, and while I appreciate those who love to decorate for any and all seasons, I like a light touch when it comes to Holiday decorating. I tend to lean towards simple, natural materials like branches, live trees, and ornamentation that speaks to, well, nature.
A Set Table, Take Two
My preference in table settings is to use natural elements such as flowers, greenery, and elements of wood, metal and of course ceramics. Read more about Tama's love for setting a table and creating a beautiful gathering.
Harrison House Remodel
In this post, Tama shares recent updates made to her home. “We have touched and replaced each surface at least once since 1998. The gallons of paint that we have used, my husband jokes, has reduced our interior square footage. He. may be right.”
Decoding Design Series: Breaking Down the Consultation
The consultation is one of my favorite parts of my work. It is the first in-person meeting with the potential client and our first eyes on the house itself. I like that we go in relatively cold, so it is a very visual experience and really exciting to see what all needs to be addressed. I sometimes feel like a design detective; putting together what we see, what the client sees and trying to figure out just where we are all going.
Before & After: A Medley of Recent Interior Design Projects
We thought it would be fun to post some before and after images of some of our recent interior design and home renovation projects in the Sonoma County area.
Just the Right Hue
Life around here has been really busy with on-going projects, new clients, meetings and planning. I have not had as much time as I would like to put towards curating new finds. But, I have had a bit of time to put together my current go-to paint favorites. Benjamin Moore is my paint of choice. They have a lovely selection of historic and traditional colors. Their paints tend to be the more classic, grayed colors, which suit my design style quite nicely.
