Things we are loving right now

A curated look at what's inspiring us this month — from design ideas to objects worth owning.

I recently signed up for Substack…

It's just one more platform calling for my time and energy, but I was drawn to this caption from Jake Arnold's posting: "When did our homes become something to prove."

This just struck a chord in me and felt so timely with all the things that 2026 seems to be bringing to bear. It has been a good year, but not without being hard and feeling a bit like walking through mud at every turn.

I've been working both personally and professionally on keeping the goal of helping people with the work that we do — and not having the joy in that be narrated by outward approval.

Jake's Substack is saying the same thing about our interiors, and it just felt incredibly timely. Here is a snippet from his post. I hope that you get some time to read it here.

"The older I get, the less interested I am in a home being perfect and the more I want it to have the freedom to change. Something doesn't have to match. A room doesn't have to be finished. I love the idea of buying something simply because you love it and worrying about where it goes later (bring on Provence), or letting your taste evolve without feeling like you need to erase everything you liked five years ago (we've all been there).

And maybe most importantly, I don't think a home should have to prove anything to anyone. Beneath all of the design, its basic purpose is still the same. You want to feel comfortable, you want people to gather, you want to feel safe. You want to be able to close the door and stop performing for the outside world."

Behind the Scenes: Design in Progress

We wrapped up the interior phase of our mid-century modern project…

It was such a creative and fun project to work on. Our clients are delightful, trusted our vision, and were such a joy to work with. The project allowed us to dive head first into the mid-century modern aesthetic and push the creative all the way.

We made it through our office expansion…

And we're settling into the new space. The expansion allows us to add additional office areas, a showroom area, and room for product.

Over the last number of years, we've had an offsite storage building that housed all our inventory and client product. This expansion allows us to have it all consolidated in one location — which is truly life changing!

Until next month

Cheers!
