Things we are loving right now…

Lauren came to work one day and insisted that we “burp” the office.

After the stunned silence, we all wanted to know what on earth she was talking about.

Popular in Germany, the age-old habit is called lüften — basically a way to refresh indoor air by throwing open the windows for a bit each day and “burping” your home or office to sweep out stale air and invite fresh air inside.

It’s a great way to refresh indoor air and revive your space throughout the winter.

We found it to be refreshing and energy-uplifting. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Behind the Scenes: Design in Progress

We’re well underway with the first phase of our in-town Sebastopol renovation. The home is a newer build, and our focus has been on layering in character, color, and a sense of collected depth that feels anything but new.

Shown here is the curated mix of materials for the primary suite, paired with a few renderings that capture the direction of the design.

Rich textures, thoughtful contrasts, and intentional color moments work together to create a space that feels warm, personal, and lived-in.

Design News

February is already flying by, and the spring-like weather we’ve been teased with is a gentle reminder that it’s time to start planning for the real thing. With that comes a fresh look at our exterior spaces.

Here are a few of my favorite outdoor furnishings for the season ahead.

Here’s to a great February!
